Söderlund’s appointment comes on the heels of the massive success of Arc Raiders, a game that has achieved over 14 million sales worldwide following its launch.
With a rich background in the gaming industry, Söderlund brings valuable experience from his previous roles as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Studios at EA and CEO of DICE. This expertise will be instrumental as he collaborates with Nexon’s president and CEO, Junghun Lee, to steer the company’s strategic and creative direction.
Söderlund will maintain his position as CEO of Embark Studios while taking on this new role at Nexon. His leadership aims to accelerate Nexon’s global strategy, transform its creative direction, and lead the company’s next phase of growth. This strategic transformation will encompass portfolio strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational development.
The appointment follows Nexon’s record-breaking revenue performance for the third consecutive year in 2025, fueled by the success of popular games such as Dungeon &amp; Fighter, MapleStory, and notably, Arc Raiders. Söderlund and Lee plan to elaborate on their unified vision for the company at a Capital Markets Briefing scheduled for March 31, 2026.
