Panasonic has developed a device-locked QR code system designed to streamline facial biometric enrollment for its Site Management Service access control product. Instead of requiring admins to photograph workers individually, employees present a QR code at entry points where the facial recognition camera scans it, triggering automatic enrollment in the cloud system. The QR codes are secured so they only function in authorized environments and on designated devices, preventing misuse by third parties. Panasonic has filed a patent for the technology. The company also announced a separate collaboration with Hitachi on a secure digital identity platform.
