I currently have a NixOs for fixed services (dns, immich, passbolt, grafana, prometheus and nginx) and a NixOs mainframe with k8s (with argo and a gitlab runner) and a gitlab so I can manage everything with terraform.
This guy makes me feel humble about my setup though…

I prefer owning several inexpensive mini‑PCs rather than running multiple VMs on a single one. If you want to run a VM, I think traditional desktop PCs still have an advantage.
