Outersloth, the funding arm of Among Us developer Innersloth, has publicly released its standard game funding contract — a rare move in an industry where deal terms are almost never disclosed publicly.
The terms are notably more developer-friendly than typical publishing deals. Outersloth takes a 50% revenue share until the advance is recouped, then drops to 15% afterward. Most publishers take 70-80% pre-recoupment and 30-20% after. The agreement runs for 7 years post-release and covers rights across all platforms, even when funding is platform-specific.
Beyond the money, Outersloth offers mentorship on hiring, studio management, PR, marketing, porting, QA, and platform relationships.
Since launching in 2022, Outersloth has invested over $19 million across 24 projects, with a 1.4% signing rate. Innersloth says the decision to publish the contract is meant to push other publishers and funds toward more transparent, developer-friendly terms. The only comparable precedent is Raw Fury’s 2021 publishing agreement disclosure.
