The biggest problem with Orleans is that most people don’t think in actors. It’s a great way to do actors in .Net but sometimes it’s a solution looking for a problem.

Orleans has been around for a very long time but I have never seen it really take off. <a href="http://Akka.NET" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">Akka.NET</a> was always more popular in the actor model space but in the end all of these frameworks want to be like erlang/elixir.
Orleans kind of gets lost in all of the other tech like DAPR, Aspire, Azure Container Apps. Sure, they are apples to oranges but the abundance of choices makes it very niche AND confusing. I’ve never read an article that explains what use cases I would want to use it. My business software doesn’t need it. When would I want to implement it?
