Oracle has released a new 2026 update to Solaris CBE (Common Build Environment), the free version of Solaris 11.4 available to open-source developers and non-production users. The update aligns more closely with the latest Solaris 11.4 upstream state available to paying customers, making it easier for developers to access recent Solaris improvements and technology advances. An Oracle account is still required to download. Oracle continues to commit to supporting Solaris through at least 2037.
