Opera GX, the gaming-focused browser previously limited to Windows and macOS, has launched on Linux. A hands-on look at the Early Access version on Nobara Linux 43 reveals flashy features like GX Control (RAM/CPU/network limiters), GX Cleaner, over 10,000 community mods, and sidebar integrations for Twitch and ChatGPT. However, the defaults are privacy-unfriendly: crash reports, promotional notifications, sponsored speed dials, and ad/tracker blocking are not fully enabled out of the box. The verdict is mixed — useful for heavily customized Linux gaming setups, but regular users will find little that a standard browser doesn't already offer.
