OpenAI teams up with Infosys to bring AI tools to more businesses

OpenAI has partnered with Infosys to integrate its AI tools, including the Codex coding assistant, into Infosys' Topaz AI platform. The deal targets enterprise clients seeking to modernize software development, automate workflows, and deploy AI at scale, with initial focus on software engineering, legacy modernization, and DevOps. This partnership is part of OpenAI's broader Codex Labs initiative, which also includes Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, PwC, and TCS as partners. Codex now has over 4 million weekly active users. The move comes as Indian IT firms like Infosys face pressure from slowing client spending and fears that generative AI could displace traditional outsourcing work.
