<p>OpenAI is removing GPT-5.2 and GPT-5.3-Codex from Codex on June 2nd for users logged in with a ChatGPT account. The change is about simplifying compute fleet management, not a capability shift.</p>
<p>After the cutover, GPT-5.5 becomes the default model for free plan users building and working in Codex. Both retired models stay available through the API, so anything relying on them directly won’t break.</p>
