I’m really not a fan of this guy, but wow this thing got way out of hand. I can agree with DHH on this. I think the TypeScript brigade might be sniffing a little too much of their own farts

I didn’t know and had never even heard of Turbo until today. Also, full disclosure, I use TypeScript with Angular every day. My initial reaction to TypeScript before I started with Angular was between meh and bad, but now I can’t think of how we ever managed to write JavaScript code before.
However, this is not about TypeScript vs JavaScript. It goes without saying that open source software maintainers are and should be free to make choices for their projects. Nobody owes them anything. There is of course the issue of other people depending on these choices, especially if the ecosystem around a repo is huge, but as others have mentioned, you can always fork it and go your own way, that’s the beauty of open source.
I think a TurboTS project is about to be born.

This is interesting because I completely agree with the premise of the post - “there’s also a fine line between being a passionate evangelist and becoming a dogmatic crusader”
This is especially true when you look at comments from people who are either unaware of the project or not using it.
At the same time, the tone is a bit argumentative/defensive, which detracts from the message. I’d love to promote the post, but this “extra” emotion is just inviting more criticism and backlash.
Perhaps that the point - fan the flames and drive clicks/views with further pointless debate.
Either way - the valid thesis is marred.
