It’s a really tricky issue, putting everything into one (very functional) place, vs having more options.

I would keep using Github only because of what I am working with and I dont think that moving ALL of my projects on Github to another open-source hosting service would make sense and I think that others would agree that its a hassle in order to move all of thier code

Disclaimer: It is biased, I am a gitlab lover.
Really I have never considered github like the real opensource platform. A platform that is not open source itself and proning (forcing) open source for other was something so weird to me (pay for private repos… yes that has changed today [a bit…])
I consider this as something normal coming from a company like Github. And specially when a “opensource platform” estimate it is a good idea to be acquired by Microsoft… Yeah Microsoft also has changed [a bit]. But still Microsoft anyway.
