Open Design is an open-source, local-first alternative to Anthropic's Claude Design. It auto-detects 10 coding-agent CLIs (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor Agent, etc.) on your PATH and uses them as design engines driven by 31 composable Skills and 72 brand-grade Design Systems. The web app + local daemon architecture lets you generate design artifacts (prototypes, decks, dashboards, mobile apps) with a structured prompt stack that enforces a discovery question form, visual direction picker, live todo progress, sandboxed iframe preview, and multi-format export (HTML/PDF/PPTX/ZIP). Key anti-AI-slop mechanisms include a 5-dimensional self-critique, brand-spec extraction protocol, and P0/P1/P2 checklists per skill.
