Okta has announced the general availability of Okta for AI Agents, a product designed to help enterprises discover, monitor, and control AI agents operating within their infrastructure. The platform lets admins import agents from Salesforce, ServiceNow, Google, and AWS, assign ownership and governance policies, and trigger a universal logout to revoke tokens if an agent behaves unexpectedly. Dell Technologies CTO John Roese, speaking at the launch event, highlighted ongoing industry confusion about what constitutes an AI agent versus a tool, and argued that agents should be treated as composable software systems with defined tool-use interfaces (MCP) and inter-agent communication protocols (A2A), not as opaque API features.
