Obsidian Importer now supports converting Apple Notes to portable Markdown files. Since Apple Notes lacks a built-in export feature and uses a proprietary SQLite-based format, migration has historically been difficult. The new importer handles all major content types including tables, images, drawings, scans, PDFs, and the internal note links introduced in iOS 17. The conversion was made possible by decoding Protocol Buffers stored in the Apple Notes database, building on prior forensic research. The tool is open source and also supports importing from Notion, Evernote, Google Keep, OneNote, Bear, and Roam Research.
