Priced at $3,000, Project DIGITS comes equipped with 128GB of LPDDR5x memory and a pre-installed NVIDIA AI software stack, running on a custom Ubuntu Linux setup. This allows for seamless prototyping, fine-tuning, and inference of large AI models with up to 200 billion parameters locally. Additionally, the system facilitates easy deployment to both data center and cloud environments.
Unveiled at the CES event in Las Vegas, Project DIGITS aims to democratize AI technology by making powerful AI tools accessible on desktop systems. It provides significant computing capabilities that are highly beneficial for AI model development, although it does not reach the performance of larger workstations like those featuring the RTX 6000 Ada.
