NVidia's 'smooth Motion' is a driver-level frame generation feature available on RTX 40 and 50 series GPUs that works across DirectX 11, DirectX 12, and vulkan titles without requiring developer support. Unlike dlss frame generation, it requires no native game integration and can be toggled per-game in the nvidia app. In testing with escape from tarkov, it doubled framerates at 4K with minimal visual artifacting and actually reduced end-to-end latency by forcing low latency mode ultra. Results vary by game — battlefield 6 saw modest gains — so per-game testing is recommended over a global toggle.
