NVIDIA announced BlueField-4 STX at GTC 2026, a modular reference architecture designed to solve storage bottlenecks for AI agent workloads. Built around a storage-optimized BlueField-4 processor combining Vera CPU, ConnectX-9 SuperNIC, and Spectrum-X Ethernet, it claims up to 5x token throughput, 4x better energy efficiency, and 2x faster page ingestion versus traditional CPU-based storage. The first implementation is NVIDIA's CMX context memory storage platform. Eight cloud providers including CoreWeave, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Mistral AI have committed to early adoption, with partner platforms expected in H2 2026.
