Nvidia has introduced Auto Shader Compilation as a beta feature in the Nvidia App, designed to eliminate the stuttering and long load times that occur after GPU driver updates. The feature works by rebuilding DirectX 12 shaders in the background while the system is idle, so games are ready to play smoothly immediately after a driver update. To enable it, users must opt into beta features in the Nvidia App settings, then navigate to Graphics > Global Settings > Shader Cache and toggle Auto Shader Compilation on. Early user reports indicate noticeably shorter load times and fewer frametime stutters, particularly in shader-heavy DirectX 12 titles. The feature only helps with subsequent driver updates, not the very first time a game is launched.
