Nvidia and pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly are investing up to $1 billion over five years to establish a co-innovation lab in the San Francisco Bay Area focused on AI-assisted drug discovery. The lab will use Nvidia's BioNeMo platform and newly announced Vera Rubin GPUs to develop foundation models for biology and chemistry. The facility will combine Eli Lilly's scientific expertise with Nvidia's computational resources to create a continuous learning system connecting wet labs with computational dry labs for 24/7 experimentation. Beyond drug discovery, the partnership will explore AI applications in clinical development, manufacturing optimization, and commercial operations.
