NVIDIA announced the Rubin platform at CES 2026, featuring six new chips (Vera CPU, Rubin GPU, NVLink 6 Switch, ConnectX-9 SuperNIC, BlueField-4 DPU, and Spectrum-6 Ethernet Switch) designed for AI supercomputing. The platform delivers up to 10x reduction in inference token costs through advancements like 3.6TB/s per GPU NVLink bandwidth, 50 petaflops of NVFP4 compute, and third-generation confidential computing. DGX SuperPOD remains the foundational architecture for deploying Rubin-based systems, with configurations including DGX Vera Rubin NVL72 (576 GPUs, 28.8 exaflops) and DGX Rubin NVL8 (512 GPUs) systems. The platform targets agentic AI, mixture-of-experts models, and long-context reasoning workloads, with availability planned for second half of 2026.
