I am fine with acknowledging there’s a strong financial incentive here. But there’s a strong, unavoidable national security element for being the leader rather than the Luddite in AI and robotics.
The biggest and most immediate concerns are much like concerns we have with social media. The ethical concerns are all in the behavior in use (which is why Australia may have the right idea when it comes to kids and social media), rather than the technology itself. You don’t need a PhD to understand that.
