NVIDIA and its telecom partners are advancing AI-RAN from lab trials to live field deployments ahead of Mobile World Congress 2026. Key milestones include T-Mobile and Nokia's over-the-air AI and RAN concurrent processing, SoftBank's industry-first 16-layer massive MIMO on a fully software-defined 5G platform, and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison's pre-commercial field validation including Southeast Asia's first AI-powered 5G call. SynaXG achieved 36 Gbps throughput and sub-10ms latency running 4G, 5G (FR1 and FR2), and agentic AI workloads on a single NVIDIA GH200 server — the world's first AI-RAN implementation on FR2 bands. The AI-RAN Alliance will showcase 26 demos at MWC built on NVIDIA AI Aerial. A growing hardware ecosystem including QCT, Supermicro, WNC, Eridan, and LITEON is forming around NVIDIA ARC platforms. NVIDIA has open-sourced its Aerial CUDA-accelerated RAN libraries and joined the Linux Foundation's OCUDU initiative to accelerate open-source RAN development toward AI-native 6G.
