Nuxt 4 has been officially released with zero new features, focusing instead on breaking changes and improved developer experience. The major updates include a new CLI with module installation wizard, restructured project directory with separate app, server, and shared folders, and improved TypeScript configuration with project references. The new folder structure is optional and provides better file watching performance. Migration from Nuxt 3 is designed to be seamless, taking around 15 minutes for most projects. Nuxt 3 will receive support for 6 months with backported features and bug fixes. Future plans include SSR streaming, accessibility tooling, caching strategies, and multi-app support.
