Numana has expanded its Kirq quantum-safe test bed to Québec City, creating a connected testing loop across three Canadian cities. The test bed enables organizations to test quantum-secure communications systems on live networks before large-scale deployment, addressing the threat quantum computers pose to current encryption methods. Hosted at Université Laval's COPL and the National Optics Institute, the expansion supports Canada's National Quantum Strategy and the planned migration to quantum-safe cryptography by 2035. Industry partners including Toshiba, Nokia, Bell, and Telus use the facility to validate quantum-secure technologies across sectors like financial services, healthcare, defense, and telecommunications.
