The NSA is reportedly using Mythos Preview, Anthropic's restricted frontier AI model designed for cybersecurity tasks, primarily for scanning environments for exploitable vulnerabilities. This comes despite the NSA's parent agency, the Department of Defense, having labeled Anthropic a 'supply chain risk' after the company refused to grant Pentagon officials unrestricted access to its models. Anthropic limited Mythos access to around 40 organizations due to its offensive cyberattack capabilities. The UK's AI Security Institute has also confirmed access. Meanwhile, Anthropic's relationship with the Trump administration appears to be improving, with CEO Dario Amodei recently meeting White House officials.
