Pulumi Cloud now supports acting as a Terraform remote state backend, currently in public beta. Teams can store and manage Terraform state in Pulumi Cloud without changing any HCL code or CLI workflows. Benefits include encrypted state storage with versioned history, automatic state locking (no DynamoDB required), RBAC, unified resource visibility alongside Pulumi stacks, audit/compliance policy packs, and cross-stack output sharing. Migration from S3, Azure Blob, GCS, local backends, or HCP Terraform takes minutes using standard terraform init -migrate-state. Each Terraform resource stored counts as a managed resource under Pulumi's pricing.
