A novel hybrid scheme combining conventional computers and quantum computers has been developed to accelerate the simulation of nuclear reactions. The hybrid scheme allows for the computation of reaction rates that are difficult or impossible to measure in a laboratory. It also has the potential to simulate properties of other quantum mechanical systems.
