Kagi's Orion browser, a WebKit-based browser (not a Chromium or Firefox fork), has launched a public beta for Linux after being exclusive to macOS and iOS. The Flatpak-only build includes basic browsing, password management, Dark Mode, and Focus Mode, but Kagi Sync and WebKit Extensions are not yet available. Testing reveals several rough edges: random file manager launches on ad-heavy pages, broken sidebar and history features, and duplicate media panel entries. The password manager works well, and session restoration functions reliably. No stable release timeline has been announced.
