Norwegian defence startup Stendr has raised a $5.4M oversubscribed pre-seed round to develop AI-driven counter-drone systems. Co-founded by Aleksander Leonard Larsen, formerly COO of blockchain gaming unicorn Sky Mavis, the Oslo-based company is building a vertically integrated hardware, software, and AI stack for detecting and tracking drones. The funding comes amid growing European demand for sovereign defence capabilities, with the global counter-UAS market projected to grow from $6.6B in 2025 to $20.3B by 2030. Investors include RainFall, ACME, SkyFall, Antler, and Andøya Ventures.
