I have been learning Reactjs over the past 8 months and I have been using nodejs for the server but I have seen a lot of people using nextjs instead.
I have done some research and most answers say it is more about personal preference with the main difference being that nextjs can render reactjs on the server.
What are your thoughts?

Node.js or Next.js for React?

It depends on your goals.
Personal project? You can go with whatever you want, if you’d like to learn nextjs, then this is your chance.
Job market? Go look at linkedin for job opennings, if you see a lot of nextjs, then that is the way to go. You already know react, so nextjs will be a breeze.
Startup idea? Go with what you know the most. Usually, for a startup you would want to release as fast as possible, going with what you already know is the best way to go, but if you can afford the time on learning nextjs, that is totally valid.
