No Web Without Women

Ada Lovelace is visionary of her era, the algorithm she wrote is inspiring the modern how we do programming.
But I disagree if she exaggerated as “has been regarded by many as an early prophet of the internet age.”
Web comes along way and it should not be divided just by saying “without women” or “without man”.
The internet development involved many brilliant minds, and attributing it to a single person, regardless of gender, doesn’t do justice to the collaborative effort.
By focusing solely on gender in this way, the website misses the opportunity to celebrate the diverse contributions that brought us the internet.

I just had a look at the website and I have to say to all the guys in the comments complaining about this post: Stop, re frame, take it with an open mind. The website is not exaggerating anything, it’s highlighting contributions. To this day I’m still surprised by the crazy number of contributions that were miss attributed because the researchers were women.
And to anyone saying daily dev is not a place for politics, I’m sorry to break it to you but there is a LOT of politics in software. It just doesn’t always talk about gender.
If you rather go tunnel vision in the technical aspects of software engineering and not deal with anything else that’s your choice. Don’t expect every community to adhere to your filter though. You’re still free to complain, of course.
