Nintendo is reportedly planning to produce around 20 million Switch 2 consoles in FY27, roughly 20% more than its public sales forecast of 16.5 million units. The Switch 2 has already sold nearly 20 million units since its June 2025 launch, outpacing the original Switch. Nintendo expects sales to decline year-on-year in its second year. The company has also raised Switch 2 prices globally — from $449.99 to $499.99 in the US — citing rising component costs driven by AI data center investment and surging oil prices.
