Two US consumers have filed a proposed class action lawsuit against Nintendo of America, alleging the company unjustly double-dipped on tariffs. Nintendo raised prices to offset Trump administration tariffs, then became entitled to government refunds after the Supreme Court ruled those tariffs unlawful in February 2026. Plaintiffs Gregory Hoffert and Prashant Sharan argue Nintendo collected tariff costs from consumers through higher prices while also seeking federal refunds, and that the company has made no commitment to return the overcharges to customers. The suit seeks reimbursement on behalf of millions of affected consumers.
