I have seen his videos and continue to use Caddy.
It’s important to assess what you will need. For example, Caddy offers a very convenient way to run PHP applications with FrankenPHP or standalone. Most applications/websites that are not affected by (D)DoS or misconfigured crawlers will not reach a load of &gt; 10k requests/s, for example. However, this should be intercepted in advance by load balancers, firewalls or similar.
For constant rates that are higher than several hundred requests per second, I would generally choose technologies other than PHP/Laravel in the backend. I would focus more on Go, Rust or C#.
Before Caddy becomes a bottleneck, it is more likely that the rate of requests will be more PHP/Laravel, which limits performance.

We replaced Nginx with Caddy in production and not once has it ever failed us. Caddy for the win!
