Excellent article! And in case anybody thinks this is React-bashing (the first part of the argument), the same applies to your favorite front-end framework.

I’m constantly amazed how far vanilla JS (and CSS) went over recent years. There’s so much of native things that you need to just slightly wrap here and there to create “micro framework” for yourself. And evergreen browsers are more of a market share standard than something you wish for clients use.
It’s mind blowing. React was a pioneer, but in my opinion it’s like a overused radio song now, it even serves as paradigm shift in some way by implementing compiler recently.
I’m looking forward to “going back to basics, but not really”, also kinda scared by it, cause I personally often learned a tool instead of a craft, but seeing where all things going native is the new pleasant way of doing things.
