Framework has launched the Framework 13 Pro, its first laptop to receive Ubuntu certification, meaning buyers get guaranteed out-of-the-box Linux support. The machine targets Linux power users with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 or AMD AI 300 series chips, up to 64GB of modular LP-DDR5X memory, a 13.5-inch 2880×1920 120Hz touch display, PCIe Gen 5 SSD support, Wi-Fi 7, a 74 WHr battery rated for 20 hours of streaming, and a haptic touchpad. Framework describes it as a 'MacBook Pro for Linux users'. It also supports firmware updates via fwupd/LVFs, and Framework is now an LVFs sponsor. Pre-built Ubuntu editions start at £2009 (Intel) or £3009 (AMD), with cheaper DIY configurations available. Pre-orders are open now with shipping from July.
