The fox avatar was described as 'taking a break' and set to return 'next week', strongly hinting at a redesign. This aligns with Mozilla's broader 'Nova' Firefox redesign effort, which introduces a softer UI with pastel gradients and a new AI-powered 'Smart Window' feature. Mozilla also introduced a new fox mascot called Kit in late 2025, and speculation points to Kit being incorporated into the updated logo. Firefox last changed its logo in 2019.
