A hardware enthusiast replaced the broken LCD display on an out-of-support Fluke 8060A multimeter by designing a custom PCB and LCD from scratch. After failed attempts with OLED retrofitting and DIY LCD milling, they drew inspiration from a Charlieplexed display project and an EEVblog video on custom LCD design. The resulting replacement display was manufactured in China, features styling inspired by later Fluke models, and includes some modern LCD improvements. The project serves as a practical guide for anyone needing to replace custom LCDs on vintage test equipment.
