Avalonia MAUI Preview 1 is a new open-source backend that enables .NET MAUI applications to run on Linux and WebAssembly without changing application code. Built as a set of handlers mapping MAUI abstractions to Avalonia controls, it supports most core MAUI controls including layouts, CollectionView, Shell, gestures, animations, and graphics (including SkiaSharp). The project requires .NET 11 and is integrated via NuGet packages with a simple UseAvalonia() extension method. Several real-world MAUI apps have already been ported to Linux successfully. Carousel view and many Essentials APIs are still pending. The project is open source and actively iterating toward the .NET 11 release.
