Neon has launched an official plugin in the OpenAI Codex marketplace that connects Codex to Neon databases via MCP. The plugin includes three components: a Postgres app for MCP-backed database management (creating projects, branches, running SQL), a skill for Neon-specific workflows like ORM setup and autoscaling, and an Egress Optimizer skill for diagnosing data transfer costs. Once installed, developers can provision databases, create branches, run migrations, and query schemas directly from the Codex chat interface without leaving their workflow.
