I’m using a bit of a different approach for virtual livestock: a nice app, called “BitTherapy”.
With one-two pets max, walking on the whole desktop. It has a bit of a bug there: they “breed” when I get another monitor connected - maybe there’s some kind of a bug there :), but that’s manageable.
