Gemini 2.5 Flash image model (nicknamed Nano Banana 2) has been released, offering improved image quality over its predecessor while being cheaper than the Pro version. Key highlights include precise text rendering and translation across multiple languages, full aspect ratio support, two thinking levels, Google Search grounding, a new image search tool not available in the Pro model, and support for up to 14 reference images for character consistency. While quality is generally close to the Pro model, some prompts show noticeable differences. The model is available in Google apps, AI Studio, and Vertex AI.
