I replaced my existing Homelab setup from the ground up with Unifi's latest Gateways, Switches APs, and Cameras. Here is what I did and how it ended up.

The author upgraded their home network, using Unifi's latest devices including Gateways, Switches, APs, and Cameras. They replaced their TP-Link Omada setup and incorporated several tools and configurations to optimize their network, especially for a house with concrete walls. Highlights of the setup include multiple APs for robust Wi-Fi coverage, various switches like Pro Max 24 PoE and Flex for different purposes, VLANs for network segmentation, and a planned integration of multiple SSIDs. Future upgrades include replacing the UPS and adding a rack-based NAS.

My Homelab Setup

Seeing you use Ubiquiti makes me smile. Love that company and use all their equipment myself. Looks like you made it all work quite nicely especially with concrete walls. The -72db would personally be my only concern as you’re right at the end of your range there and would probably expect drops, but maybe not. I had an AP around -70 and I had drops but obviously every scenario is unique.

that looks like a lot of work for only 20gb of traffic…

Honestly, you could’ve achieved the same result for a tenth of the price.
