Elon Musk unveiled 'Macrohard' (also called 'Digital Optimus'), a joint project between Tesla and xAI that pairs xAI's Grok LLM with a Tesla-developed AI agent capable of processing real-time screen video and keyboard/mouse actions. Musk claims the system can emulate the functions of entire software companies, with the name being a playful jab at Microsoft. The system runs on Tesla's AI4 chip combined with xAI's Nvidia-based hardware. The announcement follows Tesla's $2-billion investment in xAI and SpaceX's acquisition of xAI in an all-stock deal valuing xAI at $250 billion. A trademark for 'Macrohard' was filed by xAI in August 2025.
