The company told investors it would target March 2027 for an uncrewed lunar landing, delaying Mars missions that were previously planned for 2026. This strategic pivot comes amid competition with China in the lunar race and follows SpaceX's recent acquisition of xAI for AI-powered space-based data centers. Meanwhile, Musk is also redirecting Tesla toward autonomous driving and robotics with a $20 billion investment.
