I genuinely don’t understand why anyone would want to use a text-only code editor - it just seems like going backwards thirty+ years. What advantages do Vim/NeoVim/LazyVim have over modern IDEs?

I am slowly starting to make the switch myself. Currently using it for my side projects in Go, for which it works great. I haven’t started using it for my day job though, since we use PHP with Laravel and I have not had time to find the right configuration for that just yet.

I think lazyvim is an excellent idea, however it’s just a slow mess in underpowered systems. I would recommend just making your own neovim setup that suits your needs
