Cause+Select is a new platform created by Ctrl+Impact in partnership with publishing agency ICO that connects charities with game developers, publishers, and content creators. Founder Wayne Emanuel explains that both sides face friction: charities struggle to understand gaming industry terminology and find partners, while developers are overwhelmed with uncoordinated charity requests. The platform lets charities list campaigns and what they need, while games companies filter by cause and region to find suitable partners. Currently in free beta, the long-term model keeps it free for games companies while charities pay a nominal fee. Emanuel also highlights an underutilized benefit: charities can offer games companies access to high-profile ambassadors, venues, and networks that reduce marketing costs — illustrated by examples like getting actress Carey Mulligan for a War Child/Bandai Namco game voiceover at no cost.
