Modern IDEs are magic. Why are so many coders still using Vim and Emacs?

Ya me acostumbre tanto que agarro cualquier IDE nuevo y cuando voy a hacer lo que hago en VIM digo “Joder, verdad que no es mi computadora… -.-”
Y aunque muchos piensen que es anticuado, es mas potente que muchos IDE del mercado…

This article will definitely ruffle a lot of feathers! Personally, I use modern IDEs with Vim plugins. The speed at which I code is really much better when using Vim shortcuts. When using an IDE that doesn’t have those plugins, I can’t help but feel sluggish when coding.

depends… a lot of times people are just used to using those tools and they can be a lot lighter on the system than say VScode … sure you can make it “lite” but plugins in VScode are a lot clunkier than say emacs configs. You literally have WAY more customization options with either Vim or Emac, which is what many users love about these tools with the added benefit that it isn’t proprietary so you can alter the source code to create a tool to your liking. Again I know VScode has made other changes but that’s after the fact there has been a lot of issues people have faced.
