Modal announces Day 0 support for Mistral 3 models with GPU memory snapshotting capabilities that reduce cold start times by up to 9x. The Ministral 3 family includes 3B, 8B, and 14B parameter models optimized for serverless deployment. Modal's GPU snapshotting feature reduces P50 cold starts from ~118s to ~12s for the 3B model by shifting GPU memory to CPU during sleep mode and restoring from snapshots on subsequent starts. Developers can deploy these models using vLLM with automatic GPU scaling, distributed file system caching, and Python-defined infrastructure.
