Mem Palace is an open-source AI memory tool co-created by actress Milla Jovovich and a collaborator named Ben. It claims to be the highest-scoring AI memory system ever benchmarked and is free to use with nearly 5,000 GitHub stars. The tool organizes past AI conversations into a hierarchical structure of wings, halls, and rooms to enable permanent, searchable memory for AI agents. It also introduces a custom AI-readable dialect that compresses months of conversations into ~120 tokens. A live walkthrough covers installation via pip, initializing against a local directory (like an Obsidian vault), mining Claude Code conversations, and connecting it to Claude via MCP.
